10 Paleo lunches to try

Want some Paleo lunch ideas? Here Michele Chevalley Hedge, a nutritionist at a Paleo health café chain, Thr1ve shares 10 tasty ideas for those who want the wholefood, no grain, no legume lifestyle of a Paleo:

1. Chicken avocado and capsicum bowl

“When you have moved to a Paleo lifestyle, you find you don’t wrap, roll, or bread your lunch any longer,” says Chevalley Hedge. What's the answer? Food bowls! Make this one by shredding roast chicken and mixing with roast capsicum, baby spinach and topped with an avocado mash.

2. All day breakfast

Find a place that sells omelettes for lunch or an egg any style and don’t forget the classic swap of veggies instead of toast!

3. Lemon tuna bowl

For those who want a super easy lunch just grab a can of tuna and mix with crisp romaine lettuce, steamed broccoli and almonds and toss with a lemon and olive oil dressing.

4. Last night's dinner

Dinner is always the most well thought out meal of the day, so make it worthwhile by making extra and warm it up for lunch the next day.

5. Grilled fish bowl

For those after a more substantial lunch try this lunch bowl mixture of grilled fish on sweet potato mash, topped with salsa or pesto.

6. BLT bowl

Mix together chopped egg, crumbled bacon, iceberg lettuce shreds, and cherry tomatoes and drizzle with a lemon citrus dressing.

7. Stir fry

A veggie rich stir fry with a quality protein is perfect for lunch or dinner.

8. Fish or Chicken Cakes

These travel well and make an easy lunch option. Go here for a tasty Chicken cakes recipe

9. Soup

A nourishing warming veggie soup is good for lunch (or any time for that matter!).

10. Lettuce wraps

This is the Paleo version of a regular wrap. Mix any protein such as chicken, tuna or turkey with some avocado or mustard in a wrap of crunchy romaine lettuce.
